Quest has been updated to Dark Tree Crystal quest since January of 2003.

We started off from Qalaba'r by talking to the Student at 74.5S 19.4E. He'll give you the Iolite Gem and deliver it to Aun Paritea located South of the Tia-Leh Homestead. Take the Hebian-to Portal at 73.2S 18.1E which is NW to Qalaba'r. The Tia-Leh Homestead Portal is located at 41.4S 82.1E which is only a short run from the Hebian-to portal drop.

Aun Paritea is located at 26.6N 28.6W. Give him the Iolite Gem and he'll ask you to get him some Chrysoberyl compound from the Spirit Cell. Take the portal behind him and be prepare to get blinded. Keep heading North till you come to a dead end then make a right turn. Try to use your [ and ] key to locate An Ancient Chest. Get the Chrysoberyl Compound from the chest (1 minute spawn time) and then hit Portal Recall. The Exit Portal is just behind the drop for an easy trip to the exit portal by portal recalling. Give the compound to Aun Paritea and he'll tell you about the ancient mines by taking the portal on a hill North of Holtburg.

Head to 46.8N 30.5E and talk to Tornash. By taking the portal you'll end up on a plateform that's in the middle of the sky. There will be a few portals that's on other plateforms close by. Been in two dungeons and the layout is the same.

• Crystal Mine New Isparians: 1-19
• Crystal Mine Low: 20-39
• Crystal Mine Mid: 40-59
• Crystal Mine High: 60-79 (Obsiaidan Golems, Oak Golems and Magma Golems)
• Crystal Mine Extreme: 80+ (Vapor Golems, Plasma Golems, Pyreal Golems, Platinum Golems)

• Head down the ramp to the North.
• Make a left turn and hang left down the ramp.
• Make a left and continue heading forward and look for the ramp down.
• Keep making left turns and avoid the one that makes a V leading up.
• Find your way down to the large room with two Mine Storage Chest(s).
• Get the Daichroic Crystal from the chest and recall out.

Take the coal and head out to find the Blind Snowman (60.2N 11.3E). You can get to him by taking the Neydisa Castle Portal from the bottom of Jungle Shadows dungeon (new sub). Give him the coal and in return he'll give you the Snowman Snowglobe. Take the character that got the coal to turn it in and only take one at a time or...
You give Blind Snowman A Lump of Coal.
Blind Snowman tells you, "Ah, more coal? You are very kind, but I have all I need to refashion my eyes. It may take some time, but you have helped me enough. Here, have this back in case you lose your eyes."
Blind Snowman gives you A Lump of Coal.
